Head of Sales (Yoshi)

Nashville, Tennessee, United States Full-time

Never go to the gas station again.

Yoshi (www.startyoshi.com) delivers gas, oil changes, car washes, and to cars wherever they are parked. We’re attacking one of the largest markets in the world which hasn’t changed since the days of Henry Ford and the Model T. We started in 2015, have offices in San Francisco and Nashville, and currently offer our service in 13 cities across 11 states (and counting). We plan to operate in 25 cities by year end. Our investors include General Motors, ExxonMobil, and sports stars Joe Montana and Kevin Durant (among others).

Overview of the Role

Looking for a professional sales leader with a successful track record of building and managing sales teams to own all things sales at Yoshi.

Very competitive pay with sizable options.

Will work directly with founders (CEO & COO), but will have full authority to build out the sales team at Yoshi as they see fit.

We are in the unique situation of selling to businesses of every size, shape, industry. There are two types main types of customers who we sell to:

  1. Employers who want to offer the Yoshi service as a perk to their employees who drive to work. It’s been voted the #1 perk at most offices where it’s available (ahead of free coffee). e.g. Fortune 100 companies with parking lots of thousands of employees, hospitals with hundreds of doctors and nurses, law firms, medium size companies, etc
  2. Companies that own and operate fleets. For these customers, we can come by and fill-up their large fleets at night while the cars sit idle, instead of them having to pay employees to drive to the gas station daily. The ROI is very clear, and we’re already working with some of the largest fleet owners in the country. e.g. rental car companies, delivery and courier services, schools with buses, police departments, car dealerships, etc.

The largest parts of the role include:

  • Developing strategy around sales pitches and outreach campaigns
  • Defining target customers and priorities for outreach
  • Defining quotes for individual sales people and the team as a whole
  • Hiring and managing the sales team
  • Taking ownership of closing large accounts when necessary
  • Working closely with operations to successfully handoff closed deal to go from signature to first paid invoice
  • Maintaining relationships with high-priority customers to develop more business. Many large customers have locations in multiple cities, and successful deals in one city may lead to expansion to other offices

Likely that the right person will have at least 5+ years of experience in the world of sales, but willingness to learn, and ability to win sales and get results is paramount.

Must haves

  • Proven leadership track record and ability to lead a team
  • Ability to think strategically, but also execute. This role will likely be (roughly) 50% strategy, 50% execution. Looking for someone willing to get his/her hands dirty with writing pitches or picking up the phone and calling customers when needed, while also able to set strategy and manage a team.
  • Superb communication skills
  • Ability to close and win new business
  • Ability to manage people
